Blurring the line between Music and You.

Okay so as you should know by now, my design psychology assignment is all about taking you out of where you are and placing you into a new calmer environment via a photography and some snazzy music. Now you might ask, what sort of music? And the answer would be that it's nothing like Will.i.am's latest single Scream & Shout. Rather it's a carefully timed beat or pulse that should theoretically be able to help ease your tension and relax you. Slowing down that breath and placing you into a nice calm state. Sounds ambitious right?

My tutor today suggested that perhaps natural sounds isn't enough. His statement echoed something similar that I had been thinking about over the past couple days. In order to be successful I need to give myself some more control. By creating the sound and doing some nice sound mixing I can place myself in the position of being in complete control.

As for the context.. I'm still thinking along the lines of a study hardened student who needs a break. But I'm sure it'll change as the project goes along.
